Teacher recruitment scam: ED summons Abhishek Banerjee on June 16
A team of the central agency on Wednesday visited Abhishek Banerjee’s residence in Kalighat and served a notice at his office.
Imtiaz Ali is back, and this time, he’s bringing a big dose of friendship and fun with him. On the occasion of Friendship Day, the popular filmmaker announced his next project, a film titled ‘Side Heroes’.
The announcement came through a fun Instagram video shared by Mahaveer Jain Films. The video features Imtiaz Ali sitting with actors Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Varun Sharma. All three actors are well-loved for their comic timing and roles in hit films like ‘Stree’ and ‘Fukrey’.

In the video, Imtiaz is joking around with the actors and even slipping into a Bhojpuri accent while chatting on the phone.

The story seems to focus on friendship, something close to many hearts, and blends humour with emotional moments. The video ends with the message: “Dosti celebrate karne ka time aa gaya hai!” inviting everyone to cherish their friendships.

The film will be in direction of Ssanjay Tripathy and written by Siddharth Sen and Pankaj Matta. Imtiaz Ali isn’t directing this time, but he will produce the movie along with Mahaveer Jain, Reeyan M Shah, and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.
Actor Varun Sharma also took to Instagram to share his excitement. He called the film a project “made by friends, for friends,” and expressed how happy he is to work with a team so full of love and warmth.
He shared behind-the-scenes pictures from their meeting and revealed that ‘Side Heroes’ will release in cinemas on Friendship Day in 2026.
